ΜυστράςSparti the capital of the Laconia prefecture, a city with a glorious history. Built on the right side of the river Eurotas. Natural landscapes, many attractions in the city and the nearby areas will fascinate you. The ancient theater, Keadas, Leonidaion, the temple of Artemis, are some of the many attractions that are worth visiting.
Mistras is located six kilometers northwest of Sparti. The castle was built in 1249 on the east side of Mount Taygetos, on top of a hill with a steep conical form and called Mistras.
Monemvasia is one of the most historic cities in the prefecture. The rock of Monemvasia is a medieval fortress. The rock or “Gibraltar of Greece” is joined to the city by a strip of land, offering a unique spectacle to visitors. Both the lower town and the castle will leave a memory hard to forget.
South of the prefecture, you will find the coastal Neapoli and little island Elafonissos. Golden beaches and turquoise waters in most of the beaches, some of which are the beach of Panagia and the beach of Simos.
Near the outfall of the River Eurotas, is Gythio. A beautiful harbor, quaint streets, Kranai island, the tower Tzannetaki and many others explain why Gythio is one of the most beautiful cities of Laconia.
Built overlooking the Messinian gulf, Areopoli or Tsimova, is a historical city with many monuments and traditional towers that will take you back in time.
